In the months running up to Lockdown and during that ‘strange time’ there were periods when I seemed to be running 5k every day.
Post Lockdown my running became intermittent – all or nothing.
my 2024 STORY IN BRIEF
💥 5 runs Jan 2024
💥 6 runs Feb 2024
Then nothing until May 2024 – 9 runs 💥 and the same again in June 💥 and July 💥.
One run in September 2024 one run, 3 in October and 8 in November and one in December of that year.😬
Then nothing until May 2025.😬
I remember my intention was there in January 2025. 😳😳
I remember it clearly on New Year’s Day … and the Mind Monkeys ‘Do It Tomorrow’ team kicked in. 😳
The tomorrow I talked about in January ended up being May. 😳
MAY COMEBACK?
May is my birthday month and I wondered “how would the next level Warrior Queen be in the month of May?”
She’d be running.
I ran.
I achieved a whopping 14 runs!

It all went well until week 3 run, day 2 – though! I found so many things to do that it was ‘too late’ for me to run that day. Basically, I had talked myself out of running and the momentum had completely gone.
I didn’t go. I didn’t go again on the Friday to make up for the Wednesday run, and I didn’t go on the Saturday or the Sunday …. or the Monday.
Now I was short of a week’s worth of runs.
I decided that I’d run 5 days in a row to compensate.
I did it.
And do you know on day 6, of my 5-day streak, I was almost tempted to go for a run!
What resonates with you?
How’s your intention setting going for 2025?

Well done on being so consistent! I’m in the 9th and final week of couch to 5k. Which is a miracle for me. I’ve booked a couple of half marathons for later in the year. So the training proper starts in 3 weeks. Have you got any races booked yourself?

Hey Lorna! How did you get on. Have you started a regular 5k run yet? Let me know. I was away for June so I’m going to get back into things again – I may start with shorter runs, too

Hi Lynda! I’ve started going to parkrun every Saturday morning here which is 5k. I’ve managed to take almost 4 mins off my time in 3 weeks which is wild! I’m up to 8 miles on my Sunday long run but that’s tough going with walking as well.
