Chicasso prepares for her Level 1 Inferno Hot Pilates training in January/February 2020

It’s six months to the day that I took my Level 1 Inferno Hot Pilates (IHP) instructor training!

For many reasons I feel like I’ve lived six years in the first half of 2020.

I wanted to do IHP Level 1 and possibly Level 2 in Mallorca in July 2019 but I aggravated my shoulder catching a falling cast iron pan. This is not recommended!

When I saw that the course was being run near Brighton at the end of January this year, I knew opportunity was knocking and so I seized the moment.

I have no regrets it was three days, it was intensive but it was also inspirational.

Understanding the system and sequence was very important.

The most surprising thing was Gabi’s* belief that we would all be teaching classes within a week of the course!

In fact, I taught my first class within 10 days and created a regular Wednesday evening class teaching people at work.

I had 5 dedicated students. We were thwarted by a series of unfortunate events:

  • a university strike
  • an alarm which closed campus
  • a security incident in Elephant and Castle which closed the area – an abandoned van which contained flour, toilet paper and rice! The very items which were in short supply in the weeks before Lockdown
  • two students hospitalised as CV-19 took hold – fortunately both had non-covid respiratory illnesses!
  • Lockdown

But here’s the thing, several people insisted that they wanted classes online so even before Joe Wicks offered a 9am for the nation, I’d tried out Skype and another conferencing-type site. Then a friend allowed me to use her Zoom link and the rest is history.

From three classes in March to more than 150 six month later.

I teach all ages and abilities and what every single student proves is that they are stronger than they think, much more capable than they realised and they are getting stronger every day.

They leave motivated and inspired and in the best shape of their lives:

Hi Lynda, I just want to say thank you. I have ordered new exercise pants one size smaller than the last ones I have now. I can also see and feel the change when wearing my normal clothes. 😍

Next stop Level 2!
